About Mediterranean Cruise Advice

We haven’t been cruising for decades, nor have we been everywhere, but what we have done and where we have been, we have loved! Read on to find out more about Mediterranean Cruise Advice’s team.

Our first family cruise was in the Mediterranean in 2006 and from then on we have been hooked, always planning for and looking forward to our next cruise.

In that time we’ve learned what we like, what we don’t like and what we are prepared to compromise on as a family in terms of itinerary, comfort and facilities, to ensure a happy holiday for everyone and good value for money.

We have visited all the ports that are covered on the website to gather the research to help you make the most of your cruise vacation. Well someone has to do it!

Type of Cruise

One thing that rarely falls short on a cruise ship is service, as good service seems to be standard across the board. If you want luxury and can afford it then there are plenty of cruise lines that will offer you the finest facilities, food and service. But if you are on a budget or want to try a cruise without spending a fortune, don’t be deterred.

Cruising on a budget may mean that your cabin has not been refurbished for a while and the facilities may be a little tired, but you will still be sailing the same seas, calling at the same ports and watching the same sun set every evening.

The service will still be great, as will the entertainment and you will still have a fabulous time, possibly with pennies left in your pocket to start planning your next cruise.

Excursions are optional and are a good way to explore your destination, but economic gloom and having teenagers in tow has encouraged us, along with our good friends and travelling companions, to find cheaper ways to see the sights.

That is why we have included ideas on what to see and do independently in each of the ports covered by this site.

We hope you find our site interesting and useful. Enjoy planning your next Mediterranean cruise!
